Flamingo’s CEO Sympathy SleepOut will benefit disabled children
Flamingo’s executives and employees will be spending the night under the stars on 28 July 2016 to raise awareness and collect necessities for a local children’s charity as part of the Sun International Sympathy SleepOut™. Flamingo is calling on the community to joins hands in support of the cause by donating winter clothing, blankets and non perishable food to spread warmth and hope amongst the children at Kagisho Day Care Centre for Disabled Children in Ritchie.

Flamingo’s Sympathy SleepOut™ is aligned with the Sun International CEO SleepOut™ to be hosted in Johannesburg on the same night. The CEO SleepOut, founded in Australia in 2006, challenges local business leaders to join the global movement to raise funds, awareness and empathy for homelessness and the challenges faced by vulnerable children every day.
The inaugural South African Sun International CEO SleepOut in 2015 raised more than R26- million through its inaugural event. Many of the country’s top business leaders have already registered to participate in this year’s event.

Sympathy SleepOut™ events will be staged across South Africa as part of this national call to action that says all of #SouthAfricaMustRise. It will see employees and staff at companies around the country spend a night sleeping outdoors, at their office park, gaining empathy for the homeless, and collecting items for their chosen beneficiary.

All donations collected for the Flamingo Sympathy SleepOut™ will be donated to Kagisho Day Care Centre for Disabled Children. Donations can be dropped off at Flamingo Entertainment Grounds on 28 July. People keen to be part of the spirited Sympathy SleepOut™ at Flamingo on 28 July are welcome to stop by from 18h00.

“We will be spending a night under the stars in a show of solidarity with Sun International’s CEO, Graeme Stephens, and representatives from some of the country’s top companies. We invite local businesses and caring citizens to be part of this worthwhile cause, in the spirit of Mandela Day, by donating food and winter warmers to our cause. All donations are welcome. We will distribute the items amongst local charities,” says the Lameez Suliman, the PR and Promotions Manager at Flamingo.
