Shake the mid month blues with Goliath sized comedy

Shake off the mid month blues with goliath sized comedy by sought after South African comedian, Jason Goliath, and hilarious Kimberley funnyman, Mark Kotze at Flamingo on 17 February 2017. They will be dishing out extra large doses of comedy at Bar 129 at 21h00. Tickets are R30 per person at the casino’s cash desk.

Jason Goliath is a larger than life comedian who literally is larger than life. With a commanding stage presence and ridiculous amounts of energy, he has the uncanny ability to make his audiences laugh at life’s uncomfortable truths. In July 2015, Goliath was recognised as one of Africa’s best comedians and invited to represent Africa in Montreal, Canada, at the Just For Laughs Festival. In 2016 he began hosting his own late night talk show on SABC 3, Larger Than Life, was the brainchild of one of the most recognisable entertainment brands in South African comedy, Goliath & Goliath and became the proud co-owner of Africa’s first premium comedy club in Melrose Arch, The Goliath Comedy Club.

With a commanding stage presence and ridiculous amounts of energy, he has performed successfully at numerous corporate events and leading comedy rooms and events such as Blacks Only, Kings and Queens of Comedy, Johannesburg International Comedy Festival, Comedy Central International Comedy Festival, BET Experience, Melville Under Ground, AWEdnesday Comedy Jam, Comics Choice Awards Winners Lap, and many more.

Kotze is a talented comedian and motivational speaker who is well known for sharing his life experiences– the rough and the smooth – in his characteristically-humorous manner. After a stint in prison, he worked for the National Institute for Crime Prevention and Rehabilitation of Offenders (Nicro), where he began using his own story and personal experiences to connect with the youth he was mentoring. He now runs his company Mark My Words which provides motivational talks, leadership mentoring, and development training.

For the past nine years, he has also managed Tsosoloso Community Centre in Vergenoeg where a soup kitchen and literacy classes are offered. He uses his comedy shows to make people laugh while transmitting important life messages.

“Together, these comedians will put on a laugh-a-minute show that will have the audience in stitches,” says Lameez Suliman, the Promotions Manager at Flamingo Casino.
