A large variety of local and imported yarns are available. Our main supplier is Saprotex who supply Elle yarns and these are all manufactured in South Africa. The imported yarns we stock (among others) is Katia which comes all the way from Spain.
Our two main suppliers of cotton are Vinnis Colours and Moya. These are both hand spun and hand dyed and are also proudly South African.
A selection of cotton ribbons and tapes are available.
With crafting being so popular these are ideal to be used for gift wrapping, flowers, embellishing wedding and birthday cakes, trimming table cloths and add-ons to quilts, just to mention a few.
Specially selected small gifting and decor items are ideal for a special birthday or Christmas present.
We have two suppliers of handbags which are Mongoose and Works of heart.
Mongoose are made with material with a material lining and leather finishing’s/trims and handles.
Works of heart bags are fully water proof and the range comprises of toiletry, nappy, make-up, hand bags and project bags. They are made using a range of materials and are lined inside and outside with a type of industrial plastic making them very strong and hardy.
An old fashioned paint with a chalk finish. Available in over 25 colours including metallic colours. It is a water based paint which is extremely low in volatile organic compounds, is lead free, kid friendly and virtually odour free. It can be applied to just about any surface with minimum effort, dries quickly and is easy to work with. Finishing products include a water and heat resistant finishing lacquer or a wax which is the only wax available on the market that hardens and therefore does not need to be re applied.
Workshops are offered in Knitting, Crochet and Granny B’s painting techniques. These workshops are rescheduled monthly according to the needs of our clients.
Lavender & Lace was established in 1998. It started as a wool shop and later embroidery products were added. Recently a range of hand produced, eco-friendly cottons were introduced to the traditional knitting yarns, these are lovely to knit or crochet anything from home decor to garments. In the last year we at Lavender & Lace decided to expand the business and brought in a range of handbags and project bags which are proudly South African, as well as a select range of gifting, decor and a variety of cotton ribbons. Most recently we have become the stockists of Granny B’s Old Fashioned Chalk Paints and stencils.
