Maloof Money Cup Skateboarding Championships

The Maloof Money Cup skateboarding event is a 3 day event that includes (1) an opening ceremony, (2) a benefit concert where major recording acts perform in order to raise awareness and money for local charities in South Africa and (3) the main event which includes a men’s pro street event, men’s pro-vert event, amateur street event and an amateur vert event. There is also a 2 000 square metre festival village where event goers can relax and have fun.  

Prior to the main event in September, the Skateboarding for Hope Tour takes place throughout South Africa. An outreach program with the goal of providing a positive activity in which kids and youth can participate and stand a chance at winning the ‘wild card’ entry in the amateur leg of the MMC Championships. The Skateboarding for Hope Tour is an ongoing initiative aimed at raising the visibility of skateboarding and identifying local talent to compete in the Maloof Money cup South Africa.
