    This media release by News24:
KIMBERLEY and Northern Cape residents, including students, are invited to come in numbers and witness the talent that the Northern Cape has to offer.

Local dancers, together with the acclaimed Moving into Dance Mophatong (MIDM) Company and trainees, will be sharing the stage during a two-day performance programme, titled Connections, on 25 and 26 April at the Mayibuye Multipurpose Centre.

This is after the Northern Cape was identified as one of three provinces to conduct a six-week series of workshops and skills development programmes.

The workshop programmes, funded by the National Lotteries Commission’s Dance Development Project, will be followed by performances in their respective regions and then at the national leg, which will be in Johannesburg.

MIDM is an acclaimed contemporary African dance company in Johannesburg and has been in existence for the past 38 years.

It functions on several levels, including various performance projects and programmes and extensive outreach programmes, by which it engages with schools and community centres through dance performances and workshops on dance and choreography.

Its mandate this year is to nurture young performers in under-resourced communities nationally.

The Mayibuye Multipurpose Centre will host both performances on Monday, 25 April, for schools at 15:00 and Tuesday, 26 April, at 17:00 for the public and entire community.

According to Letlhogonolo Lucky Nche of the Mayibuye Dance Academy, the performance will be approximately one hour long.

He says tickets are on sale at a cost of R10 per person and R5 for students through bookings at the Mayibuye Dance Academy.

Nche expressed gratitude to the National Lottery Commission, the Mayibuye Multipurpose Centre, Mayibuye Dance Academy and the Northern Cape Arts and Culture Council (NCACC) for support throughout the programme.
