24-hr Non-Stop Stationary Cycle Challenge @ Virgin Active

This event is to raise funds for Caritas’s ‘Give a Child a Chance’ fund that helps children who have been exposed to sexual and / or physical violence to receive the necessary therapy. This is not a cheap process, and the cost is approximately R15 000 per child. Our goal is to help at least 3 children with this fundraiser.
If you or your organization are just looking for a fun team building challenge or want to make a difference in the lives of others, then this challenge is for you.
The cost is R150 per person and the maximum number of team members is 12 people. If you do not have a team, feel free to come along. Our ‘Phantom’ team is an open category and all you must do is visit Virgin Active at any time during the challenge and spend 30 minutes pedaling. The cost being R50 per person.
 
The challenge will start at 4pm on Friday, 29 July and end on 4 pm on Saturday, 30 July. (24 hours)
Challenge your friends / cell groups / work colleagues / family members to make up a team of 12 members and help us to make this therapy a reality for a child.
You do not have to be fit. If you are older than 14 years, you can participate. You can pedal at your own pace. (Like in REALLY pedal at your own pace. This is not a race.)
Teammates may cycle on a rotation basis (determined by yourselves). You can set up a roster. You decide.
Supporters are most welcome! Should they wish to join in, we will have our phantom bikes available for only R50 for 30 min cycle.
Companies/businesses may bring a banner (pop-up or a-frame) to put up next to their cycle or in the chill area.
Lucky draws will take place throughout the night and there is also lots of prizes up for grabs – including a prize for the ‘best team spirit’!
 
There will be food/snacks/beverages on sale and great music will be played throughout the evening.
Bring your pillow/blanket – there will be a chill area available.
Remember, this is a fun charity event. So come and enjoy the event with us. There will be no losers and no winners.
 
We plan on having the following themed hours, please feel free to dress accordingly:
19:00 – 20:00 : Neon hour
21:00 – 22:00 : Games hour (Pictionary / charades)
22:00 – 23:00 : Karaoke hour
00:00 – 01:00 : Pajama hour (wear your pj’s!)
02:00 – 03:00 : Games hour (Pictionary / charades)
03:00 – 04:00: Opposites hour (dress as the opposite sex)
04:00 – 05:00 : Karaoke hour
11:00 – 12:00 : Games hour (Pictionary, charades)
