You will be the proud owner manufacturer of a superior quality leather belt and bag, every hole punched and stitched by hand. The course covers the introduction to different kinds of leather, working with and caring for your crafting tools, designing the pattern for your product, manufacturing from start-to-finish, caring for your items as well as product and supplier information.

    COURSE OBJECTIVES
    To provide practical and hands-on training that will equip each participant with the basic skills, knowledge, information and a set of start-up tools that will enable them to practice the rewarding art of hand stitched leather crafting and proceed with manufacturing directly after completion of this course.
    To personally connect with each participant and to offer the best possible experience.
    To empower people, to awaken creativity and promote both traditional and contemporary leather crafting.
     
    KEY AREAS TO BE COVERED

    • How to identify different kinds of leather;
    • The practical use and maintenance of hand tools;
    • Introduction to chemicals, leather care products and suppliers;
    • Hand-stitching methods;
    • How to hand color / spray color and Saddle Stitch a Belt;
    • How to design and manufacture one of the following items: Standard Hand Bag or Tote bag or Back Pack;
    • Lining your bag with pig-split leather;
    • Strong focus on the manufacturing of each component to perfection, assembly methods and workflow, finishing techniques and quality control;
    • How to fit zips (we use only YKK zips);
    • How to manufacture and fit different styles of handles, straps and pockets;
    • Attachment techniques – all hardware, slings, handles, straps, pockets, etc.;
    • Setting of hardware – D-Rings, Rivets, Turn Locks, etc;
    • Supplier information;

    PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    • As soon as attendance is confirmed, we will forward you a registration form and invoice;
    • A deposit payment of 50% is required within 7 days of registration;
    • The balance is payable no later than 10 days prior to the course start date;
    • We work on a first come first served principle;
    • Bookings will only be secured upon receipt of a deposit payment.
