Kalahari Kuier Fees

The Kalahari Kuierfees (Social Festival) covers a large variety of entertaining and fascinating topics. It is essentially a celebration of sport, indigenous foods, regional products, nature, culture, theatre and, of course, the Afrikaans language.The Kuierfees has certainly grown in popularity since its inception nine years ago, and is now an important date on the Upington social calendar, attracting over 30 000 visitors last year. It is certainly one of the best organized festivals in South Africa. The Kuierfees is renound for its wide selection of sport, including the Kumba Iron Ore Classic, volleyball, golf, and an exciting half marathon. The ‘Upington Toyota Bybelgenootskap’ fun walk always attracts hundreds of participants annually.
