Teekay and Friends, back on Bar 129’s stage for an All White themed event.
Timothy “Tee Kay” King, song writer, singer, performer was born in Cape Town and grew up in Kimberley. He was introduced to music at a very young age and has been performing since the age of seven, he was able to play the drums at the age of twelve and joined his first band age fourteen.
The focus of the band at the time was gospel and they were exposed to playing in many cities and towns across the country, after completing school in 1994, he was determined to pursue his singing career and so ventured on to performing at weddings, parties and festivals in the Northern Cape.
Tee Kay became a member of the well renowned band, Dr. Victor and The Rasta Rebels, in October 2010 and still continues to play with them as well. He however went solo (with his own full band) at the beginning of 2014, doing private and corporate functions throughout the country. He is able to entertain crowds ranging from clubs and festivals to large corporate events. He has successfully recorded his first album called “My Debut”, this was released in July 2012. “My Debut” has been submitted to all major South African radio stations as well as Namibia and Swaziland.
He has completed a number of music videos – Party at My Pozzie; It’s Summertime and Sexy Ntombazana, which has been submitted to Broadcasting houses for airplay. These can be viewed on Youtube as well. His repertoire includes a variety of R&B, Country Rock, Pop, Afrikaans and Reggae music. Tee Kay has currently completed his second album called ‘I Believe in Me’. This consists of 10 original tracks all written by him.
