In association with Concerts SA, pop-rock singer/songwriter Michael Ferguson will be heading across the country on his December 2017 Tour to perform in various towns and cities.

The repertoire of Michael Ferguson’s Dreamward Tour consists of original and cover tracks as well as some new material releases yet to be heard by his fan base. With nine shows in two weeks, the tour is set to kick-off in Kimberley on the 8th of December, ending off on the 22nd of December at Kenton on Sea.

Johannesburg-based musician Michael Ferguson is no stranger to the performance scene. Having released two singles on radio, boasting an ever-increasing gig guide which comprises of an average of ten performances a month, his reach has now provided the platform to finally tour the Cape regions.

Michael portrays the epitome of an uplifting, vibrant artist, who is equally at home playing robust rock material as he is playing laidback classical music for a more intimate environment.

It is his dynamic on stage presence, and ability to interact with people as a performer and MC, that leaves a long lasting impact on his audiences. With a repertoire consisting of a diverse selection of songs which is truly splendid in delivery – you can be certain of great entertainment through the entirety of his show.

A generation of musical influence, years of training in all genres has had an extensive influence on his musical style, and Michael Ferguson is set to becoming one of South Africa’s biggest sensations and an internationally acclaimed artist.

His first album, Rock ‘n Roll Souljah, was released in 2013 and has been featured on major local radio stations such as Jacaranda FM, Highveld Stereo, 5FM and RSG to name a few. This debut album set the tone for things to come in the singer/songwriters journey. The self-funded record is both soulful and captivating and contains hidden gems of some of the earliest writing from Michael’s career. His latest release, Paper Plane, took flight in early 2016. On the horizon, Michael is underway with the new album due for release in 2018.

When asked about his most significant performances, he simply says: “Every performance is my biggest performance and I treat them all as if they are the most important. If I had to pick out two of my most memorable shows; it would be performing with Kelly Rowland during her concert at the Sun City SuperBowl and competing at the Global Battle of the Bands 2007 in London with my former band, Allegra Street Theme. We won the South African leg of the competition.”

Michael has performed in a variety of South Africa’s neighbouring countries such as Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia, as well as some European countries including Ireland, England, France, Italy and Austria. He is currently studying under Professor Malcom Nay, head of the Music department at Wits University.

Michael is the co-founder of The Children’s Flight – a dreamer’s initiative aimed at using aviation and music as a beacon of hope to inspire and change the lives of the underprivileged children of our country. As well as a member of the board of trustees, he is the writer of the event’s theme song Paper Plane which has since become a hit countrywide.

Michael Ferguson’s Dreamward Tour is supported by Concerts SA through the Music Mobility Fund, a funding mechanism which offers opportunities for South African musicians to undertake live music tours.
